The original intention behind Newsvine Photographers was to increase collaboration between photographers and writers. In fact, the creation of the group was a result of a Newsvine Photo Pool on Flickr.com. The pool, despite being an excellent idea, is not likely viable. However, collaboration between Newsviners is very much possible and should be encouraged.
To accommodate this, the admins of Newsvine Photographers are expanding (a clarification really) the articles accepted by the group. Articles may be from any author on Newsvine but the accompanying image(s) must be from a group member. Articles from non-members should be clipped to the group; those authors should not join the group.
A great example is this article.
Photographers are encouraged to offer photography services to their peers. A quick comment, or an email, will do the trick. An example:
This is a great article, Minnie. I wish I could have gotten a photograph of the Dome for your article. Next time, if you're interested, let me know if you'd like/need a photograph of something and I'll try to get it before your deadline.
Also, there's nothing wrong with adding photographs to articles after they've been published.
Traditional photography isn't the only game in town. Digital art can also enhance an article and will now be acceptable material.
The Newsvine Photographers Code of Honor/Charter will be updated to reflect these changes.
